Report: Jannik Vestergaard agrees personal terms with Leicester; medical today

Spurs and West Ham target Jannik Vestergaard has moved a step closer to joining Leicester City with The Athletic reporting that he will undergo a medical on Thursday with personal terms agreed.

Vestergaard looks to be another set for a whirlwind exit from Southampton.

While his switch to the King Power Stadium has not been quite as swift as Danny Ings’s move to Aston Villa, it does appear that the Foxes have moved incredibly quickly.

The Telegraph reported on Wednesday that a £15 million fee had been agreed.

They added that Vestergaard was yet to agree personal terms. But he had apparently told teammates he expected to move.

And now it seems that another hurdle is out of the way.

The Athletic reports that terms have now been finalised. The Dane will undergo a medical today.

The Athletic notes that several Premier League sides were keen on Vestergaard this summer.

Leicester look set to see off competition from the likes of Tottenham, West Ham and Wolves.

Vestergaard has his limitations. He endured a tough time initially following his move to Southampton.

But he improved considerably last season. And he followed that up with a brilliant performance at Euro 2020 with Denmark.

He is not the fastest. But alongside Caglar Soyuncu, Leicester could potentially form an outstanding partnership.

It could prove an inspired deal. And it may be one that a number of Premier League rivals rue in future.
