Report: Inter chief to offer Stefan de Vrij to Arsenal in swap deal for Gabriel Magalhaes
According to CalcioMercatoWeb.it, Inter Milan are keen to sign Arsenal defender Gabriel Magalhaes this summer, and the Italian giants are even willing to offer a player in a swap deal – Stefan de Vrij.
The Gunners signed Gabriel from Lille in the summer of 2020 for £27 million (Sky Sports). He has been a fine player for Mikel Arteta since, having played 68 times in all competitions so far.
Gabriel still has three years left on his contract, but his tremendous performances at the Emirates have attracted a ton of interest from numerous clubs. Juventus have been the keenest, if reports are to be believed, but it now looks like Inter want him as well.

The Nerazzurri are reportedly willing to use a player of their own to sweeten the deal too.
Inter to offer Stefan de Vrij to Arsenal in swap deal for Gabriel Magalhaes
Inter Milan’s defenders are making all the noise in this summer’s transfer window.
Alessandro Bastoni is reportedly Tottenham Hotspur’s priority target this summer, and they’ve been heavily linked with a move to sign him. PSG are said to be keen to sign another one of their centre-halves in Milan Skriniar, who is a fantastic player as well.
Inter director Giuseppe Marotta does not want to let either of them leave. Instead, he’s thinking of selling De Vrij, who was once branded as ‘one of the best defenders in the world‘ by Willem van Hanegem.
Marotta is reportedly keen to sign Gabriel from Arsenal, and he is hoping an offer that would see De Vrij go the other way could convince the Gunners to let their star defender leave this summer.
TBR View:
Ben White cost Arsenal a lot of money last summer, but Gabriel is still the Gunners’ most important centre-half.
The Brazilian is good with the ball at his feet, excellent in the air, and as he has shown on eight different occasions, he can chip in with goals too.
De Vrij is a fantastic defender in his own right, and he would be a quality signing for numerous clubs in the country. However, Gabriel is a better fit for Arsenal, and the fact that he’s still only 24 means he’ll only get better in the coming years.
Arsenal may well receive a few offers for Gabriel this summer, but they shouldn’t consider a single one. Arteta and Edu should instead offer him a new deal and secure his future.
