Hertha Berlin are seriously interested in signing Arsenal winger Reiss Nelson.

What’s the story?

According to 90 Plus, the German side want the ace to join on a permanent deal from the Gunners. It’s claimed the Bundesliga outfit are desperate to sign wingers this window.

However, they face competition for the Hale End academy product, who is also attracting interest from the Premier League. Crystal Palace manager Patrick Vieira is also keen on Nelson this summer.

Nelson is no stranger to the German top-flight having enjoyed a loan spell with Hoffenheim. The Englishman scored seven times and registered one assist in 23 appearances for the Old Lady.

Hoffenheim are no stranger to doing transfer business with the north Londoners. Matteo Guendouzi spent last season on loan with the outfit, helping them stave off relegation.

Alan Shearer once said Nelson doesn’t panic at all after his Premier League goal versus Liverpool.

Arsenal should fetch a decent fee from Hertha Berlin for Nelson

At 21-years-old and with an abundance of quality, the attacker can prove to be a valuable asset for the Gunners.

With Mikel Arteta needing to sell in order to free up both squad space and raise finances, a sale is on the horizon.

And with two clubs chasing the London-born ace, Arsenal could fetch a decent fee from Hertha Berlin for Nelson.

And when you couple that with the potential sales of Ainsley Maitland-Niles, Joe Willock and Hector Bellerin, it’s promising for the side.
