Report: Galatasaray take information on Spurs star Tanguy Ndombele
Tanguy Ndombele could be offered the chance to move to Turkey this summer, with Galatasaray taking information on the Tottenham Hotspur midfielder, according to a report from Media Foot.
Ndombele is one player Spurs really need to move on in some capacity in this window. Antonio Conte came to the same conclusion on the Frenchman as several of his predecessors, and lost faith in the 25-year-old quite quickly.
He spent the second-half of last season out on loan. Unfortunately, his time with Lyon did not tempt Les Gones to try and sign him permanently.
Conte continues to keep Ndombele on the periphery back at Hotspur Way. He did not go on their pre-season tour to South Korea.
Obviously, the big problem for Tottenham is that Ndombele cost a club-record fee. And he is on £200,000-a-week in North London. So finding a buyer is a real problem for Spurs.
There is interest however. And Media Foot in France reports that Galatasaray could attempt to sign Ndombele on loan.
Unsurprisingly, they do not have the funds to sign him permanently, with Spurs holding out for at least £42.5 million.
Galatasaray take information on Ndombele
In football terms, it does appear that signing Ndombele has been something of a disaster for Tottenham. He has shown flashes of his brilliance and been described as ‘magnificent‘ by Jose Mourinho.
However, several managers now have given up on trying to get out of Ndombele. And he is certainly not suited to Conte’s style. Interestingly, Mourinho is one manager reportedly keen to sign him.
A loan is not ideal. And moving to Turkey may make it harder for Ndombele to do enough to convince a team to spend big to sign him permanently.
But it seems most important that Tottenham get him out of the club this summer in some capacity. Perhaps Galatasaray may be the side who help them out.
