Report: Fiorentina set deadline for Tottenham to make Vlahovic offer

If no club makes a real offer for Tottenham Hotspur target Dusan Vlahovic before August 15, Fiorentina will not sell the ace.

What’s the story?

According to Corriere Dello Sport, renewing the contract of the £60m-rated Serbian is the Serie A outfit’s first goal. However, the player’s agent, Darko Ristic, is holding out for a higher offer from the Florence-based club.

Recent reports have claimed the 23-year-old centre-forward will snub transfer speculation and sign a new deal.

It would be a bitter blow for Spurs, who are still in search of a striker during this window.

However, news of a new contract was met with contrary reports just a day later. It was claimed yesterday, the Lilywhites are in talks with his agent over a move.

Vlahovic deadline can boost Tottenham

The deadline set in a move for Vlahovic can boost Tottenham as Fiorentina look for a swift offer.

During the closing weeks of the transfer window, the last thing you want is to take time to complete deals.

Before you know it, August 31 has arrived and you have failed to fill a necessary position due to prolonged negotiations.

At least now, Tottenham are being forced into making a swift offer for the ace…after which they will know their fate.

If a transfer for Vlahovic fails, Nuno Espirito Santo’s side can target different options in their hope of signing a striker.
