Report: Fabio Paratici is a massive fan of 23-year-old star, he's one of Tottenham’s main targets this summer
Tottenham Hotspur supremo Fabio Paratici is a huge fan of Inter Milan central defender Alessandro Bastoni, as per Football.London.
Antonio Conte wants a new man at the heart of his defence as he looks to build on this season’s top four finish.
23-year-old Bastoni could be that figure and Paratici is the man in charge of getting the players through the door that his manager wants.
It was reported earlier this month that Conte wants Bastoni whatever the price and thinks he could go on to be one of the world’s best.
Paratici a fan of Bastoni
Conte and Paratici should know the Italian market well and it is no surprise they are reportedly looking at Serie A for reinforcements this summer.
Paratici brought in Dejan Kulusevski and Rodrigo Bentancur from Juventus during the January window and they made an instant impact.
Italian football is more strategic and less transitional than the Premier League, but that does not mean that gems cannot be found.
It appears there is alignment between the manager and the recruitment team when it comes to Bastoni.
That is always a good place to be in when spending the kind of money it would probably take to land the defender, and reduces the chances of duds in the market.
Spurs are still recovering from the summer when they spent big on Tanguy Ndombele and Giovanni Lo Celso, neither of which worked out.
If Conte does get money to spend, he needs to do better than Spurs did in that window, and also in his final Chelsea splurge, when the likes of Tiemoue Bakayoko came through the door.
