Report: Conte wants Tottenham to sign 'phenomenal' left-footer whatever the price, he's desperate for him
Tottenham are ready to make some big moves in the market this summer and Antonio Conte is desperate to see Alessandro Bastoni arrive.
The Italian defender is said to be high on the list of targets for Conte. The Spurs boss is desperate to improve his squad this summer, and with Champions League qualification nearly secured, there are going to be more options.
One of those options is Inter Milan star Bastoni. And now, according to Corriere Dello Sport, Conte will order Fabio Paratici to go out and sign Bastoni, for whatever the price. It’s claimed Inter want between £50-60m for the Italian star, who was key for his country in Euro 2020.
Bastoni, 23, ticks the boxes for Conte in terms of defensive output. The Inter man is already an established star despite his age, and crucially, plays on the left-hand side. Bastoni has once again featured heavily for the Serie A giants this year, making more than 40 appearances in all competitions.
Conte and Bastoni have history, of course. The defender labelled the Italian coach as ‘phenomenal‘ during their time together at Inter. Clearly, then, there is a strong working relationship between the pair.
TBR’s View: Bastoni To Tottenham Is Perfect For Tottenham
Tottenham qualifying for the Champions League opens all sorts of doors for them, and if it helps them sign a player like Alessandro Bastoni, then it’s perfect.
Yes, the money might be big. But Bastoni to Tottenham is the sort of signing that would excite Spurs fans.
If Conte can get the right man alongside Dier and Romero in the back three, then the sky could be the limit when it comes to success for Tottenham under Conte.
It’s an exciting time for Tottenham fans right now. They could genuinely challenge next season if they get this summer right, and Bastoni would be a great start for them.
