Report: ‘Excellent’ 23-year-old is set to sign for English club amid West Ham United links
The 23-year-old defender has been closely linked with a move to the London Stadium.
David Moyes’ side were apparently in pole position to bring in the centre-back on a free transfer.
Ruhr24 don’t name the club in question, but his most likely destination is West Ham.
The Hammers were up against French side Lyon to sign Zagadou.
However, Ruhr24’s report seems to confirm that Zagadou won’t be joining the Ligue 1 team.
Zagadou set to sign for new club
Zagadou has had plenty of time to assess his options this summer and decide where to play football next.
However, Rose left Dortmund this summer, and has just taken the job at RB Leipzig.
Zagadou would be the third centre-back through the doors at West Ham this summer.
Thilo Kehrer was then brought in to ease the pressure on Moyes’ defenders during an injury crisis.
The German defender has done very well, despite being thrown into the action by Moyes before he was ready.
Zagadou has a lot of potential but has also struggled with injuries throughout his short career.
This would take any immediate pressure off Zagadou to succeed, and allow him time to adapt to the Premier League.
Although it’s not been confirmed that West Ham will be Zagadou’s new club, there’s a good chance he turns up at the London Stadium soon.
