Report: ‘Excellent’ 21-year-old attacker would really like to join Spurs and work with Conte
Anthony Gordon wants to explore the prospect of a move to Tottenham Hotspur after they launched a bid to sign him.
Tottenham have made a bid to sign Gordon and his Everton teammate Richarlison for a grand total of £100 million.
It seems that Everton are reluctant to lose both, and Gordon could well be the more likely to stay.
The Toffees need to make a sale and Richarlison could raise the required cash to meet FFP regulations, with Gordon sticking around to provide hope for the future by building around an academy graduate.
Gordon wants Tottenham move
Football.London report that Gordon is open to the move but he will also not push to leave Goodison Park.
Gordon appeals to Tottenham not least because he could help boost their homegrown numbers to comply with Premier League rules.
The 21-year-old would be keen on the move to play Champions League football under Antonio Conte but will not force his way out.
Gordon has been described as ‘excellent‘ by BBC Sport pundit Pat Nevin, and he was one of few bright spots for Everton last season.
Losing him would not go down well with the fans, especially if it came in the same summer – and to the same club – as Richarlison’s exit.
Gordon can really go and kick on next season as Everton aim for a better campaign, but he could well be a Champions League player if Spurs push hard.
