Everton’s transfer business over the past few seasons has been hit or miss to say the least.
Plenty of players supposedly at their peak have come in for big fees and bigger wages.
Everton’s business in the last 18 months has been subdued compared to previous years, but appears to have been quite successful.
Vitaliy Mykolenko and Amadou Onana are the two biggest outlays in that time, but have firmly established themselves in the starting line-up.

Frank Lampard has brought in some established players in James Tarkowski and Idrissa Gueye, while Conor Coady has also joined on loan.
However, alongside Mykolenko and Onana, some planning for the future has also taken place.
Dwight McNeil and James Garner are both still under 23, and could be part of Everton’s first team for some time.
Premier League clubs are increasingly trying to sign football’s next stars at a younger and younger age.
And so, it’s no surprise that Everton have been watching Sporting CP attacker Issahaku Fatawu.
Everton watching Sporting attacker Fatawu
The 18-year-old has broken in Sporting’s first-team this season, and has made several appearances off the bench.
Despite his age, Fatawu has already made 13 senior appearances for Ghana and could be on his way to the World Cup.
It’s an exceptional feat, and one of the reasons why Liverpool have also watched him in the past.

He’s been described by Sporting boss Ruben Amorim as a ‘great talent’ and someone who he thinks has a bright future.
“He has a great talent, he is very fast, he shots from very far and from different areas of the pitch,’ Amorim said.
“He can improve a lot. We count on him and it’s only up to him to belong to the first team.”
There’s no suggestion yet that Everton are doing anything other than watching Fatawu at this time.
If he does excel for the Black Stars in Qatar, Everton may end up facing plenty of competition for the youngster in the future.
