Everton transfer news: Kamaldeen Sulemana could now join on loan
Everton manager Frank Lampard will be desperate for new additions at the club before the January window shuts.
They believe that Everton are keen on signing Rennes winger Kamaldeen Sulemana.
The Ghanaian international is typically known as Kamaldeen, and has had a fascinating career.
The 20-year-old came through the Right to Dream academy in Ghana, before joining their affiliate club FC Nordsjaelland in Denmark.
He scored 10 goals for the Danish side as an 18-year-old, attracting interest from plenty of clubs across Europe.
In the end, he joined Rennes for £17.7m, which makes him the most expensive export from Denmark ever.
Kamaldeen showed flashes of brilliance in his debut season last year, recording an assist in a fantastic win over PSG.
However, a back injury ruined the second-half of his campaign, and now he finds himself behind Amine Gouiri in the pecking order.
This could offer Everton the perfect opportunity to sign Kamaldeen.
Everton keen on Kamaldeen
The report suggests that Everton want to sign Kamaldeen initially on loan in January.
It would be a risk-free signing for both parties, with Everton not having to commit to buying the 20-year-old even if they get relegated.
Kamaldeen isn’t playing the number of minutes he would like at high-flying Rennes this season.
Everton need more attacking options, and Kamaldeen would create plenty of chances in the Premier League.
The Ghanaian is a dribbling genius, capable of beating full-backs on the inside and outside.
No player who appeared in more than 10 games completed more successful dribbles per 90 minutes last season in France, as per FBRef.
Everton have failed to create many chances from wide areas, and so it makes sense that they’re keen on Kamaldeen.
He could finally provide the service that Dominic Calvert-Lewin has been lacking this season.
The ‘extraordinary’ winger has previously been considered by Newcastle, but Goodison Park now looks like his most likely destination.
