Report: Newcastle now weighing up a bid for 'extraordinary' international forward who's brilliant at dribbling
Newcastle United are weighing up a bid to sign wide forward Kamaldeen Sulemana from French Ligue 1 outfit Rennes.
L’Equipe report that the Magpies have turned their attention to the Ghanaian international as they continue their attempts to bring in a new man out wide.
They have been linked with Jack Harrison among others this summer, but it seems that Sulemana is now one of the names at the forefront of their mind.
The Rennes man is renowned for his dribbling ability and shooting from range, most comfortable playing from the left hand side.
Newcastle weighing up Sulemana bid
With the days ticking away until the start of the new Premier League season, it seems Eddie Howe still wants more pace and firepower out wide.
Two of Newcastle’s biggest transfer targets since Howe took over have been from the French top flight, just like Sulemana.
They eventually got their man at the heart of the backline in the shape of Sven Botman, after a long negotiation with Lille.
But Reims did not sell them Hugo Ekitike, who moved to French champions Paris Saint-Germain this summer instead.
The Ghana international has been described as an “extraordinary” talent by Nordsjaelland manager Flemming Pedersen, who even compared him to Neymar.
“With the personality and mentality he has, I will never say it will be too big a leap, for he is extraordinary,” he said of Sulemana.
“We are talking about a player with potential on a par with Neymar, and maybe even more than that, because he’s even faster
