Report: Everton now in talks to sign very 'skilful’ striker, he's already played with Idrissa Gueye
The report suggests that both the Toffees and Fulham have engaged in talks with Dieng, who has been linked with a number of Premier League sides this summer.
Newcastle were reportedly ‘very interested’ too, but TalkSPORT claim they’ve now distanced themselves from a move, with Goncalo Ramos now at the top of their list.
The need is there for another forward at Everton and Dieng could certainly be the answer.
Everton have opened talks with Dieng
Bamba Dieng had an encouraging season in France last year.
The ‘skilful’ forward scored seven goals in just 11 league starts, and regularly featured off the bench.
Signed from Senegalese club Diambars FC last summer, he broke into the national team last October, linking up with fellow Everton target Idrissa Gueye.
The pair were both selected for the African Cup of Nations, and featured in their win over Egypt in the final, with Dieng scoring his attempt in the penalty shootout.
TalkSPORT believe that the forward could set Everton back around £15m, which could end up being a fantastic investment given his age and potential.
They might have to fight off interest from several other sides, but the opportunity to step straight into the starting line-up at Everton given other player’s unavailability is a great incentive for Dieng.
