Everton have made an enquiry for Matheus Pereira after being alerted to his availability and his desire to return to the Premier League, according to a report from the Sunday Mirror (28/8; page 78).
The Toffees are still searching for their first win of the season in the Premier League. And it is difficult to know how busy they are going to be able to be in the final days of the transfer window.

Certainly, the fans will be hoping that Frank Lampard is able to sign a striker. But it seems that he may have his eye on another attacking midfielder before the deadline.
According to the Mirror (28/8; page 78), Pereira would like to come back to England after a year in Saudi Arabia with Al-Hilal. And that has caught the eye of Everton.

The report claims that both the Toffees and Leicester have made enquiries about signing the 26-year-old. The Foxes’ interest has come about after they missed out on Arsenal winger Nicolas Pepe.
Everton have made Pereira enquiry
It is easy to forget just how good Pereira was at times during his one season in the Premier League.
Perhaps that was down to West Brom being relegated. But Pereira still ended the campaign with 11 goals and six assists for the Baggies.
And it would be no surprise if Lampard was watching the day Pereira scored twice and set up two more as West Brom stunned Chelsea 5-2 at Stamford Bridge.
His performances towards the end of the season were described as ‘special‘. So few would have expected to see him move to the Middle East that summer.
Certainly, plenty of Everton fans will be pleased if the Toffees are the ones to offer him the route back to the Premier League.
