Manchester City are keeping tabs on Wolves winger, Pedro Neto, with Pep Guardiola said to have been impressed by what he’s seen from the Premier League ace.

Neto has exploded into life this season at Molineux. The young Portuguese star has hit five goals and registered five assists and at just 21, is regarded as one of the most exciting talents in Europe.

But according to Duncan Castles, speaking on his Transfer Window Podcast, Wolves could have to fight off City to keep their man.

On there, Castles claims City have been impressed by Neto, despite initially heading to Molineux to scout the lightning quick Adam Traore.

One of the clubs that are interested and have been interested in Pedro Neto in England are Manchester City. I’m told that when they were watching and paying attention to Adama Traore last season and spending time at Wolves games, as Neto was becoming more of a fixture in the team.

“They started to see the quality of his play and considered that he might be a better fit for their team than Traore – and they continue to hold an interest”, Castles said.

City have already started looking to the future it seems with some of their targets. The club are looking at a new forward as Sergio Aguero comes to the end of his time with the club, while David Silva moved on last summer.

TBR View: Neto is outstanding, would excel under Guardiola

Pedro Neto has been one of the best players in the Premier League this season and it’s remarkable he is only 21.

At City, he’d be a sure fire hit, playing in a Guardiola team that has loads of the ball and creates chance after chance.

The Telegraph have previously tipped Neto to follow in the footsteps of Cristiano Ronaldo. And it’s easy to see why, which makes City’s interest a bit of a no-brainer in all honesty.
