Report: David Ornstein shares Mykhaylo Mudryk's stance about joining Chelsea instead of Arsenal

Chelsea have just made a late attempt to hijack Arsenal‘s move for Mykhaylo Mudryk, and The Athletic’s David Ornstein has revealed the Ukrainian’s stance about joining the Blues now.

The Gunners have seemed the favourites to sign the 22-year-old. They have been negotiating with Shakhtar for weeks, but there’s now a real problem for Mikel Arteta and Edu, as the Blues are pushing to sign him.

David Ornstein says Mykhaylo Mudryk is open to joining Chelsea instead of Arsenal

One of Arsenal’s biggest advantages in the deal over the last few months is the fact that Mudryk was really keen to join the Emirates Stadium club.

The Ukrainian has dropped numerous social media hints, and he has also publicly claimed he cannot say no to the Gunners if they come in for him.

Arsenal fans have been hoping for this move to go through as a result, and reports over the last two days convinced many that this deal will be completed.

However, Chelsea have now moved in, and Ornstein has revealed what Mudryk’s stance is about a potential switch to Stamford Bridge despite his public desire to join Arsenal.

On The Athletic along with James McNicholas, Ornstein wrote: “Mudryk, 22, has been made aware by Shakhtar directly in the past few days of Chelsea’s growing interest in his signature.

“The feeling around the situation is that both Shakhtar and Mudryk are open to getting the deal done.”

This would be a humongous blow for Arsenal considering how much time and effort they’ve put in to try and sign Mudryk over the last few months.

It will be interesting to see how this pans out in the next few hours, but Arsenal fans will surely be worried now, while Chelsea supporters have every reason to be excited.
