According to a report from Brazilian outlet UOL, Barcelona are facing stiff competition from Liverpool in the race to sign Ajax star Antony this summer.
The 22-year-old, a product of the famous Sao Paulo academy that has produced the likes of Ederson, David Luiz Casemiro and Oscar, has made a brilliant name for himself in the Eredivisie.
Antony, labelled as a ‘fantastic‘ player by his manager Erik ten Hag, has scored 12 goals and has provided 10 assists in just 32 starts in all competitions this season. That is a phenomenal return for someone so young and he is attracting a lot of interest.
The report claims that along with Barcelona, at least three clubs in England, including Liverpool, are keen to sign the talented Brazilian.

Dani Alves wants Antony to snub Liverpool and join Barcelona
According to the report, Barcelona boss Xavi is looking for a new winger. His options in the summer include Leeds United star Raphinha and Antony, both of whom have been linked with a move to Liverpool as well.
The problem for Jurgen Klopp’s side, however, is that Barcelona star Dani Alves is pushing his manager to sign Antony.
He wants the Ajax man to ignore Liverpool and join him at the Camp Nou, and it won’t be a surprise to see that happen this summer.
The report claims that Ajax are ready to let Antony leave for £33.3 million.

TBR View:
If Jurgen Klopp, Dani Alves and Xavi admire you, you must be a really good footballer. That’s exactly what Antony is and he has been terrific for Ajax this season.
The Brazilian, still only 22, has mainly played on the right flank this season. He is quick, a fantastic dribbler and as his numbers show, he knows how to score and create goals as well.
Alves pushing him to join Barcelona is a problem for Liverpool, but Klopp has quite a few Brazilians in his squad as well.
A quick phone call from one of Alisson, Fabinho or Roberto Firmino could well be enough to convince Antony to make the move to Anfield this summer.
