Report: Conte tells Paratici to go and sign 'extraordinary' player who's already excited about joining Spurs

Antonio Conte has told Fabio Paratici and Daniel Levy to sign Destiny Udogie for Tottenham Hotspur this summer.

The Daily Mail report that Conte has personally recommended the left-back to the Spurs hierarchy and wants him.

But Udinese want to get the teenager back on loan for the season ahead to carry on his development with them.

Spurs are open to that, which indicates they see him as one for the future, despite Conte’s general preference for proven winners.

The report also says that the player is excited about the prospect of joining Tottenham and is very keen to work with his countryman Conte in north London.

That seems to mirror the impact Conte had another young wing-back this summer, in the shape of Djed Spence, who has of course already signed.

The report says that Manchester City – who are on the hunt for a new left-back – are also one of the clubs interested in Udogie.

Gabriele Cioffi, head coach of Udinese, has already described Udogie as ‘extraordinary‘ and he looks to have a big future in the game.

Paratici apparently met the player’s agent in June, and perhaps talks will ramp up in the closing weeks of the summer transfer window.

Those wing-back positions are so important to a Conte side, and it seems that he wants the club to go and get someone who could fill that role for the next ten years.
