According to Spanish outlet El Periodico Mediterraneo, Antonio Conte has personally asked the Tottenham Hotspur board to sign Pervis Estupinan from Villarreal this summer.

Spurs have had a fantastic transfer window so far. They have brought in Ivan Perisic, Fraser Forster, Yves Bissouma, Richarlison and most recently, Clement Lenglet.

No Tottenham fan would’ve really expected so many incomings this early in the window, but Fabio Paratici and Daniel Levy simply had to do this to keep Conte happy.

The Italian will surely be delighted with his squad, but it looks like he’s not done just yet. Conte is still keen to bring in a few more players – including one at left wing-back to replace Sergio Reguilon.

Conte and Tottenham have decided that they don’t want Reguilon anymore. The Spaniard was even left out of Spurs’ pre-season tour to South Korea, and it is very likely that he will be moved on before the window shuts.

Tottenham have Perisic, Ryan Sessegnon and even Ben Davies who can play in Reguilon’s position, but the report claims that Conte has made his mind up over who he wants there.

It has been revealed that the Spurs boss told the club’s owners and board that Reguilon is not a part of his plans anymore and that he wanted them to go and sign Estupinan as the Spaniard’s replacement.

The 24-year-old South American, who currently plays for Unai Emery at Villarreal, has almost five years left on his contract, which means Spurs will have to pay good money to bring him in.

Reguilon is a fantastic left-back, and it is a shame that things haven’t worked out for him at Tottenham.

Spurs agreed a deal worth £32 million with Real Madrid to sign the talented Spaniard back in 2020 (Sky Sports), and many believed he would be the main man for Spurs at left full-back for years to come. Sadly, that dream looks over now.

If the report is to be believed, Conte has made up his mind, and Estupinan is the man he wants at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium before the transfer window shuts.

Villarreal are reportedly open to cashing in on the Ecuador international, and the fact that the Yellow Submarine are keen to sign Giovani Lo Celso could really simplify this deal for Spurs in the coming weeks.
