Report: Conte and Paratici both like Tottenham target Weston McKennie

Antonio Conte and Fabio Paratici are interested in bringing Weston McKennie to Tottenham Hotspur, with Calciomercato reporting that the Juventus midfielder could move as soon as January.

McKennie is gearing up to be a part of the USMNT side hoping to spring a surprise or two at the World Cup. Gregg Berhalter’s men look to have the talent to get out of their group in Qatar. But they need their big players to turn up.

And one of those key men is McKennie.

Tottenham interested in McKennie

With 37 caps, the 24-year-old is one of the most experienced players in the squad. And it seems that there is going to be interest in how McKennie gets on in Qatar.

Juventus are open to selling the midfielder, and he may even leave in the January transfer window. They ideally want up to £26 million for the youngster.

And it seems that Tottenham remain admirers. It has previously been suggested that Fabio Paratici adores McKennie and has held talks with his representatives.

And Calciomercato is now reporting that Conte is also a fan of McKennie. With that, Tottenham are monitoring his situation as they weigh up making a move for the American.

McKennie definitely has the potential to be very good value at £26 million. He has been described as an ‘extraordinary‘ talent. And he should only get better in the coming years.

Tottenham, of course, have had real joy signing players from Juventus over the last 12 months. Rodrigo Bentancur and Dejan Kulusevski have perhaps been Spurs’ best two players this season.

Certainly, after Harry Kane, they appear to be two of their most important.

That does not mean that McKennie would be a success if he made the switch to North London. But perhaps it should leave Tottenham fans feeling more confident should he make the move that he can put his difficult Juve spell behind him.
