Everton transfer news: Duvan Zapata asking price set as Toffees consider January move
A 2-1 defeat to fellow strugglers Southampton extended their run without a win to eight games.
Lampard will hope that the club can provide him with a couple of new signings this month.
Everton are in need of goals, having failed to score more than once in a match since October.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin has had plenty of injury issues this season, and only scored once in the league.
Neal Maupay has equally struggled in front of goal, and a new striker could be just what Everton need.
However, the Italian club now seem happy to let the Colombian international go in January if the right offer comes in.
Atalanta set Zapata asking price
The report has suggested that Atalanta could let Zapata go for €20m [£17.5m] this month.
Zapata has been replaced in the Atalanta line-up by wonderkid Rasmus Hojlund, who has three goals in three games.
They go on to say that Zapata is currently Atalanta’s highest paid player.
Funds aren’t easily accessible at Everton right now, and his wages could be an issue if they try to sign him in January.
Atalanta would also like to replace Zapata with another young forward if he leaves, which makes this deal very complicated.
They may be hoping that fellow Colombian Yerry Mina can convince the forward to head to Goodison Park.
However, Atalanta setting Zapata’s asking price at £17.5m may end Everton’s hopes of signing the 31-year-old.
