Tottenham Hotspur manager Antonio Conte will hope his side have turned a corner after their last two games.

They’ve finally managed to keep a couple of clean sheets and avoid conceding first.

A report from Spanish outlet Estadio Deportivo has been speaking about one of the stars of those performances.

The January transfer window is likely to see some change to the Tottenham squad.

Conte has made it clear he wants to add quality to his first team.

A new right wing-back and an additional forward appear to be his main priorities right now.

However, there’s also a number of players who could be leaving the club in the next few weeks.

Spurs appear happy to listen to offers for Emerson Royal, with Conte unconvinced by his options in this area.

Alasdair Gold also thinks youngster Alfie Devine is likely to leave on loan after his cameo against Portsmouth.

Another player whose future is up in the air is Spanish winger Bryan Gil.

Estadio Deportivo report that Valencia want Gil on loan this month.

However, it’s unlikely to be as simple as that for the ‘superstar’ winger to be reunited with his former side.

Valencia want Gil on loan

The Spanish publication suggest that Valencia wanted Gil in the summer and this month, but are now ‘biting their nails’.

This is because Gil has broken into the first team at Spurs, with Richarlison and Dejan Kulusevski both injured.

His performances have steadily improved, and now, Sky Sports believe Gil is set to remain in north London all season.

Conte’s assistant Christian Stellini heaped praise on Gil for his performance against Portsmouth at the weekend.

However, Estadio Deportivo have warned the youngster that, ‘it is very typical that a coach gives minutes in January to a footballer with plenty of options to leave and then, when the market closes, he disappears again.’

Valencia want Gil on loan after an injury to Samu Castillejo, which would guarantee Gil some minutes.

They’re likelier to be harder to come by once Kulusevski and Richarlison are fit again.

The winger may be praying his senior teammates recover sooner rather than later so that he can confirm his future quickly.
