Napoli now feel their talisman Victor Osimhen could leave the club, with Tuttomercatoweb reporting Arsenal are keen to sign the striker who’s ‘on par’ with Erling Haaland.
The Gunners are currently in the market for attacking reinforcements after Gabriel Jesus picked up a knee injury at the World Cup.
Mikel Arteta’s side are dealing with the Brazilian’s absence well up to this point and Eddie Nketiah has already bagged two goals in two starts.
Jesus has been a revelation since making the switch from Manchester City but Arsenal were linked with a move for Osimhen beforehand. Italian journalist Lorenzo Amuso claimed back in June that the north Londoners had tabled a bid for the Nigerian striker.

Of course, a move never materialised and Arsenal fans certainly won’t rue the fact they signed Jesus instead. But reports emerging from Italy suggest the Gunners are still interested in signing Osimhen.
Arsenal keen to sign Osimhen
Tuttomercatoweb claims that Napoli will not allow any of their stars to leave in January, including Osimhen.
But the club feel that one or two of their prize assets will leave over the summer, with the striker being tracked by the likes of Newcastle United, Bayern Munich and of course, Arsenal.
Luciano Spalletti’s side are enjoying a brilliant campaign so far and like Arsenal, they sit at the top of their domestic league.
Osimhen has once again been in lethal goalscoring form as he’s found the back of the net nine times in just 11 appearances in Serie A.
The Nigeria international is certainly highly-rated by his club, with Napoli’s sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli suggesting he’s ‘on par’ with Haaland back in November.

Arsenal are seemingly prioritising attacking reinforcements after Jesus’ injury and The Sun reports that they’ve launched a second bid for Shakhtar Donetsk star Mykhaylo Mudryk.
But it would be a huge surprise to see the Gunners launch a bid to sign Osimhen over the summer, especially as Jesus will have returned to action by this point.
Napoli signed the striker for £70 million back in 2020 (BBC) and he’s likely to command a hefty fee after his performances in Italy.
While Arsenal do need to add quality depth to their attacking options, it would be difficult for Arteta to keep both Jesus and Osimhen happy within the same side, especially as they only play with one striker.
