Juventus are confident that Newcastle United will agree to pay at least half of the wages to take Aaron Ramsey on loan, with The Times reporting that that would make the Welshman the highest-paid player in the Magpies’ history.
Eddie Howe is reportedly looking to land proven Premier League players. Kieran Trippier is on the verge of joining. And reports have suggested that Lucas Digne could be their next priority.

But they are also looking further up the pitch. And it would appear that a move for Ramsey may be edging closer.
The Times reports that Newcastle are ready to try and take Ramsey on loan with an option to make it permanent in the summer. And Juve are seemingly optimistic that terms can be agreed.

The report adds that the Old Lady are confident that Newcastle will cover at least half of his wages. He earns around £250,000-a-week in Turin. And it is suggested that a move is set to make him the highest-paid player in the club’s history.
Newcastle landing Aaron Ramsey on loan would be huge coup for Magpies
It remains to be seen what terms are agreed. Obviously, it would be riskier if Newcastle committed to making the move permanent in the summer. They remain in danger of falling into the Championship.
But a loan move would definitely have the potential to be a huge coup. Ramsey has not had the easiest time with Juventus. But whenever he has linked with Wales, he has reminded everyone of just how good he can be.
His international teammate Ben Davies labelled him ‘world-class‘ a couple of years ago. And Newcastle clearly hope that he could be a game-changer in their battle to beat the drop.
