Report claims PL boss would love to sign £20m Arsenal player after his recent contract decision

Patrick Vieira could be about to offer Eddie Nketiah a route out of Arsenal this summer, with The Sun reporting that the Crystal Palace boss would love to sign the Gunners striker.

Nketiah could well be on the move during this window. The 22-year-old is entering into the final year of his contract at the Emirates.

He only made four Premier League starts for Mikel Arteta’s men last season. And it was claimed in late June that he had not accepted a contract offer from the Gunners.

Fabrizio Romano previously stated that Palace were one of the top flight clubs tracking Nketiah. But of course, there has since been a significant change at Selhurst Park.

Vieira has been appointed as Roy Hodgson’s successor. Nevertheless, The Sun is suggesting that the former Arsenal captain would love to sign the striker.

According to the report, the Gunners want £20 million for Nketiah. So it will be interesting to see whether Palace are willing to pay that figure considering his contract situation.

Crystal Palace move looks perfect for Eddie Nketiah following Vieira appointment

Unfortunately, it has appeared for a little while that Nketiah may struggle to really make the grade with Arsenal.

Of course, he has shown glimpses of just how talented he is. However, he has failed to stamp his authority on a place in the side since returning from his loan at Leeds in 2020.

Joining Palace therefore, looks to make perfect sense. The Eagles look to have an incredibly exciting array of attacking options. Former Arsenal target Michael Olise became the latest to join the club this week.

But they still lack options up front. So Nketiah may have a fantastic opportunity to establish himself as a first-choice in the Premier League now that Vieira has moved to Palace.
