Sky Sports claim that Celtic have been told it will cost £2.5million to sign Legia Warsaw right-back Josip Juranovic. Reports emerged this week regarding Celtic’s eyeing Juranovic. The new report claims Celtic will have to pay £2.5million, but are battling Fiorentina boss Gennaro Gattuso.
Juranovic, 25, joined Legia Warsaw in July 2020 from Hajduk Split – having clocked up a huge 165 games for Split. In his first season, he clocked up eight assists in 32 games, scoring once. A 10-time Croatia international, Juranovic is naturally a right-back but can play as a defender too.
Celtic are keen and Sky Sports say the Scottish side are one of three clubs interested in landing the right-back. Reports claim interested parties will have to spend £2.5million to bring him in. However, ex-Rangers man Gattuso wants him at Fiorentina, while Spartak Moscow are also keen.

Gattuso battling Celtic for Juranovic, but do Hoops need him?
Along with Juranovic, Celtic are also targeting Manchester City’s Yan Couto, Independiente’s Fabricio Bustos and Antwerp’s Aurelio Buta. Others are also on the list. Juranovic clearly looks as if he would be a smart purchase, given his form, caps and bargain £2.5million price tag.
But do Celtic need to bring in a right-back that is going to start? Tony Ralston has been excellent over the past few weeks – playing every minute of Celtic’s 21-22 campaign. He has even scored against Hearts, and Dundee. Ralston is at least making a case to be the club’s back-up right-back.
