Sky Sports claim that Celtic invited Manchester City right-back Yan Couto to Parkhead on Thursday night in a bid to convince him over a move. It was the first match in which Celtic welcomed back a capacity crowd – and the Hoops beat Jablonec 3-0. Couto is a target, and the Hoops are pushing.
Couto, 19, spent last season on loan at Spanish second-tier side Girona – City’s sister club – and impressed. Clocking up 30 appearances, the Brazil under-20 international had a hand in seven goals – scoring two and creating five. Sky Sports previously stated Celtic want Manchester City’s Couto.
Now, a new report from Sky Sports says that Celtic invited Couto to Parkhead on Thursday night. The Hoops took on Czech side Jablonec, after winning 4-2 in the first leg. A David Turnbull brace and a goal from James Forrest saw Celtic win 3-0 – in front of a capacity 60,000 fans.

Manchester City talent Couto must be tempted by Celtic loan move
That is, of course, if he took up Celtic’s offer of watching on at Parkhead. As You’ll Never Walk Alone belted out before kick-off, Celtic fans revelled being back in the ground for the first time as a full capacity. It was spine-tingling for those of a Celtic persuasion. Couto, if watching, will have been tempted.
There is no doubt. But is it the right move for him? Well, Celtic need a right-back – but Anthony Ralston’s stunning form so far this season could convince Ange Postecoglou against a big-money move. A loan signing for Couto might see him continue to give Ralston a chance.
