Report: Celtic set sights on youngster with seven-figure valuation, two years left on contract
Celtic are reportedly eyeing youngster Moritz Jenz from Swiss top-flight club Lausanne-Sport.
According to the Scottish Sun, the Hoops have been alerted to the availability of the £1million-rated defender.
The report explains Celtic are keeping tabs on the 22-year-old’s, who’s attracting interest from several clubs across Europe.
He’s an ex-Fulham academy talent that has two years left on his contract with Lausanne-Sport.
The German played 31 games across all competitions last season as he became an ever-present in his debut year.
Meanwhile, he previously spent a lot of time developing in Fulham’s Under-23s.
Moritz Jenz can hopefully fill out Celtic squad
Jenz is a fairly unknown talent, but he’s just had a solid year of senior football under his belt.
For £1million, he looks a cheap option.
The fact the towering centre-back can cover as a right-back is a bonus for any manager. Also, being in demand means his performances are alerting teams.
Ange Postecoglou’s squad definitely needs major improving before the window shuts, so perhaps this is a realistic deal.
It may take a couple of bodies to arrive to fill the gap Kristoffer Ajer has left now he’s left for Brentford.
The Scottish giants will know there is lots of work to do if they want to close the gap to great rivals Rangers in time for the start of the new league season.
