Report: Celtic now eyeing £8m ‘revelation’ who scored goal of the tournament against England this summer
A number of Celtic’s stars will be travelling to Qatar and could attract the attention of big clubs across Europe.
The Daily Record believe that Celtic are eyeing a move for Israeli youngster Oscar Gloukh in case any of their stars move on.
Gloukh is the latest Isreali player coming through as part of one of their strongest ever generation of footballers.
Celtic eyeing move for Gloukh
Celtic have done a brilliant job identifying young talents from lower profile leagues.
Josip Juranovic’s arrival from Poland and Alexandro Bernabei from Argentina are two further examples.
However, it’s the success of Liel Abada’s move from Israel to Celtic Park that will encourage Celtic to look at Gloukh.
The 20-year-old Abada has been fantastic since arriving from Maccabi Petah Tikva.
He could also provide Ange Postecoglou with a run down on Gloukh is Celtic decide to make a move.
Gloukh was part of Israel’s under-19 squad that made it to the final of the European Championships in the summer.
England eventually ran out as winners, but not before Gloukh scored the goal of the tournament against them.
“Our revelation of the tournament was Oscar Gloukh.
“Technical and smart, energetic and brave – he personified the Israel team.
“Quick feet with vision and awareness, he developed attacks with killer passes, little combos and sharp runs. Excited to see what he does next.”
Celtic eyeing a move for Gloukh makes perfect sense, the 18-year-old already has seven goal contributions this season.
A move may depend on others leaving the club, but Gloukh would be a brilliant addition to the Celtic squad.
