According to Sky Sports, Celtic are now interested in a loan deal for Manchester City right-back Yan Couto.
What’s the story?
Well, Ange Postecoglou is seemingly on the hunt for a new right-back.
According to Le Parisien, a bid was made for Rennes prodigy Sacha Boey, although it now seems like he’s heading to Galatasaray.
Celtic were also said to be fighting Watford and Udinese to sign another right-back from Rennes in Brandon Soppy.
Now, Celtic’s attention has turned to Couto.
Manchester City paid £5.5m to sign the 19-year-old wonderkid, who spent the 2020/21 campaign on loan at Girona.
If the Bhoys are to land the Brazilian, however, they’ll have to fend off interest from clubs in Portugal.
Who does Yan Couto play like?

Interestingly, the teenager has been called the new Dani Alves by The Sun.
It may seem a lazy comparison, as both are Brazilian, and both operate at right-back.
However, there are certainly similarities in how both play.

Couto loves to attack, and has been nicknamed ‘The Flash’ because of his blistering runs down the right flank.
The Sun add that he’s even drawn comparisons to Cafu, as well as Dani Alves.
If Celtic get this deal over the line, they could have a new Jeremie Frimpong on their hands.
