Tottenham Hotspur may face a battle with Barcelona for the signature of Adama Traore, with Sport reporting that the Catalan giants want the winger should Ousmane Dembele decide against signing a new contract.
Dembele is still currently set to leave the Nou Camp in the summer. His contract expires at the end of the campaign.

It was previously reported by Sport that the Frenchman wanted to become the highest-paid player in the Barcelona squad. However, with talks at an impasse, his agent had met with a number of clubs – including Tottenham.
It is not clear where Spurs find themselves in the race for the 24-year-old. But it is probably fair to say that he finds himself behind Adama Traore on the Tottenham shopping list.
BBC Sport were amongst the outlets reporting this week that Antonio Conte’s men plan to make a bid for the Wolves winger. It has even been suggested that talks over a £20 million move have already started.

It would appear that Conte sees the Spain international as a potential option for the right wing-back role. Emerson Royal has not had the best time since arriving in the summer.
However, Spurs’ hopes of signing Adama Traore could soon be dealt a blow. Sport has reported that Barcelona could target the 25-year-old. They plan to make a move should Dembele decide he is leaving.
Sport notes that Adama wants to return to Barcelona. And he is still in contact with a number of the club’s current squad.
Wolves meanwhile, be offered the chance to sign Francisco Trincao permanently should Barca bid for Adama.
Barcelona links must surely prompt Tottenham to act on Adama Traore interest
As things stand, Dembele’s future is still undecided. And with that, Barcelona will be unaware of whether they need to make a move for Adama.
Spurs have to step up their pursuit while the opportunity is there. If Conte can get the best out of Adama Traore, he could be devastating for Tottenham. Pep Guardiola previously labelled him an ‘incredible‘ player.
They should look to shut the door on Barcelona while they wait for a decision from Dembele.
