Report: Aubameyang wants Arsenal stay and aims to become club legend
Arsenal striker, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, has no intention of leaving the club and wants to become a Gunners legend instead.
The Gabon striker has been the subject of speculation in recent weeks, with reports suggesting Barcelona are keen on bringing him to La Liga.
However, The Express has claimed in an exclusive that Aubameyang does not want to leave Arsenal at all. Instead, he is hoping to fulfil his objective of becoming a club legend, with two years left on his contract.
Aubameyang only scored the ten Premier League goals last term. His form has been the subject of much criticism from Gunners supporters in the last 12 months.
He also missed the opening game of the season at Brentford. However, there is a chance the striker returns this weekend against Chelsea.
Aubameyang is the top earner at Arsenal. He signed a new deal worth in excess of £250k-a-week last year.
TBR’s View: Actions speak louder than words
It’s all well and good Aubameyang saying he wants to be a club legend at The Emirates, but he needs to buckle down now and produce the goods.
He’s looked a shadow of the player he was for some time now. The goals have dried up, the work-rate is not there, and there seems to be something lingering in the background.
Now, then, is the time for Aubameyang to start scoring. He can do it, he’s proven it before by winning the golden boot. But Arsenal fans need him in form, and they need him now.
