Aston Villa and Newcastle United are planning to rival Tottenham Hotspur to sign Christian Eriksen this summer following his amazing return to action in the Premier League, according to a report from 90min.

It was Brentford who offered Eriksen the chance to return to England after his contract with Inter Milan was terminated. Inter, of course, were not allowed to play the midfielder.

And the Bees look to be on course to remain in the top-flight, with Eriksen making a massive impact. He has been ‘incredible‘. And it is no surprise that Brentford want him to stay beyond this season.

Convincing him to stay may not be easy however. Reports claimed that Tottenham are the side showing the most interest in the 30-year-old.

Meanwhile, a raft of Premier League sides have joined the race. 90min reports that Villa, Newcastle, Everton, West Ham and Crystal Palace. Fulham even, fancy their chances of signing the Dane with promotion virtually a formality.

It is added that it is not yet clear whether Eriksen would be open to rejoining Tottenham. So that may encourage the lengthy list of admirers.

Eriksen is going to have almost every Premier League club chasing him this summer. And it is not hard to see why. He is an amazing player. And it appears that he has taken little time to remind everyone of that following the terrifying events at Euro 2020.

He will surely find it difficult to leave Brentford. Thomas Frank’s men offered him the chance to play again. And there is a strong Danish contingent at the club. He has also been able to shine with the Bees.

Meanwhile, an emotional return to Tottenham must be tempting for all parties.

Aston Villa, Everton and Newcastle will have their sights set on much higher finishes next year. Meanwhile, West Ham could be back in Europe again next season.

But those attachments to Brentford and Tottenham will surely be hard for Eriksen to ignore when he makes a decision on his future this summer.
