Report: Tottenham now paying closest attention to Christian Eriksen

Tottenham Hotspur are the side paying the closest attention to Christian Eriksen ahead of the summer, according to a report from i News.

Eriksen has made an ‘incredible‘ return to football. It was Brentford who signed him with Inter Milan unable to play him after he was fitted with a defibrillator.

And the Dane’s arrival is looking set to be a game-changing signing for the Bees. Thomas Frank’s men look to be almost safe for another year in the Premier League. And Eriksen has played a key role in getting them across the line.

His contract is up at the end of the season. Obviously, Brentford hope to keep him.

But there is interest from elsewhere. And a report from i News claims that it is Tottenham monitoring his situation closest.

It is not going to be easy for the 30-year-old to make a decision if he has offers from Brentford and Tottenham this summer.

Tottenham could have Champions League football to offer him next year. And they are in a much better place under Antonio Conte.

He also made over 300 appearances for the club before leaving for Inter. He is someone loved by those throughout Tottenham.

But Brentford signing him will not be forgotten by Eriksen. It was something of a gamble from the Bees considering it could not have been known just how good he would be upon his return to competitive football.

He is clearly enjoying his football right now. And there is a strong Danish contingent at Brentford.

But in truth, after what happened at Euro 2020, it is just fantastic to be able to speculate about where Eriksen will be playing his football next year.
