Arsenal are working hard behind the scenes to be the first club to agree personal terms with Lucas Paqueta before they look to make a bid for the Lyon midfielder, according to French outlet Media Foot.
Paqueta is attracting attention after a superb couple of years in Ligue 1. He has scored nine top-flight goals in both of his seasons since moving to France.

Reports have claimed that Newcastle were prepared to break their transfer record to sign the Brazilian. Meanwhile, Tottenham have also been linked with the 24-year-old.
However, it appears that neither side has had any luck trying to agree terms with the player himself. Media Foot reports that Paqueta has, so far, rejected all interest.

But it is claimed that his stance over a move is starting to change. And with that, Arsenal are planning to chance their arm before approaching his club with a potential offer.
Media Foot reports that the Gunners are working behind the scenes to convince Paqueta to make the switch. And he is prepared to listen to Mikel Arteta’s men.
Lyon meanwhile, are looking for around £42.3 million for the former AC Milan player.
Arsenal working on Lucas Paqueta deal
Paqueta would be yet another hugely exciting signing for Arsenal this summer. They have enjoyed a superb window so far. And landing Paqueta would be another statement of intent.
The Gunners have signed Fabio Vieira already. But their squad being stretched last season really hurt their chances of holding onto fourth spot in the Premier League.
Paqueta is also a player who can play in a number of roles, including up front. So if Arsenal can agree personal terms, supporters can perhaps start to get very excited about another fantastic piece of business.
