Arsenal are waiting for a ‘green light’ from Real Madrid as they prepare to make a bid for Norwegian midfielder, Martin Odegaard.

Odegaard, who was on loan with the Gunners last season, is said to be one of the club’s top targets this summer. Along with James Maddison, Odegaard is said to be someone Mikel Arteta is desperate to bring in.
Reports this week have suggested Arsenal have already had a bid in the region of £42m rejected for Odegaard. However, Fabrizio Romano has now claimed that the Gunners are lying in wait to move for Odegaard, as soon as Madrid give the ok.
Arsenal will be hoping for more success in their bid for Odegaard than some of the other summer targets they’ve tried to land.
Gunners fans have become increasingly frustrated in recent weeks. Despite promises of a huge summer rebuild, Edu and Mikel Arteta have only added Albert Lokonga, Ben White, and Nuno Tavares.
Big weeks coming for Arsenal and Odegaard would be ideal
This final few weeks of the transfer window are so important for Arsenal, Edu, and Mikel Arteta. They simply have to add players.
It goes without saying, then, that Odegaard is a game-changing signing for the club. They need an attacking midfielder, and Odegaard would settle in nicely given he already knows the club.
At between £40-50m, Odegaard is worth the money. He’s young enough to improve further, and fills a gaping void in the Gunners XI.
