Arsenal have reportedly had a €50m (£42.3m) bid for Real Madrid ace Martin Odegaard rejected.
What’s the story?
Defensa Central have said the Spanish giants are demanding a fee between €60m and €70m (£50.8m-£59.2m) for the Norway international.
The Gunners signed the attacking midfielder on a loan spell back in January. However, according to Defensa Central, Los Blancos are not willing to loan out the midfielder once again.
In more promising news, the north Londoners are thought to be the frontrunners for the ace. Mikel Arteta is keen on bringing him back.
Odegaard allegedly wants to leave the Bernabeu Stadium this summer after growing concerns over his role.
Reports back in May claimed the 22-year-old was Arsenal’s number one target.

Arsenal should pull out of race
Arsenal should pull out of the race to sign Odegaard after they had a £42.3m bid rejected for the player.
While the club are keen to bring back someone who has tasted English football, his price is not worth it.
If reports over Real Madrid’s true asking price are true, the Gunners should chase James Maddison.
At £60m, the Englishman is a better all-round play-maker than his Norwegian counterpart.
His mix of goal threat and quality of pass makes him a far more attractive prospect.
We will have to wait and see what comes of Arsenal’s chase for a number 10, but it seems the N5 outfit are making moves.
