He really put supporters on notice with some outstanding displays for the under-23s last season. And his cause was certainly helped by some outrageous goals along the way.

He seems to have picked up where he left off this pre-season.

The 18-year-old scored a superb goal against Watford. And he has since followed that with another sublime hit for the under-23s.

Some may feel that a loan move should be the next step for the teenager as he looks to stake a claim to Mikel Arteta.

However, it appears that the Gunners have other ideas.

According to Football London, it is unlikely that Azeez will leave on loan as things stand. That could however, change if Arsenal bolster their midfield ranks further.

Azeez certainly one to watch with Arsenal currently against loan exit

If there was one positive to emerge from last season’s problems, it was the emergence of some outstanding young players.

Emile Smith Rowe, of course, was a revelation. Bukayo Saka meanwhile, kicked on after a brilliant year previously. And Gabriel Martinelli also showed glimpses of his undeniable potential.

That should leave Arteta feeling confident about throwing some of their best starlets into the side.

And Azeez is definitely one who is knocking on the door. He certainly should expect a lot more game-time should he stick around.
