‘Messi’: Arsenal starlet Miguel Azeez lauded after outrageous goal

A number of Arsenal teammates and rival players have lauded Miguel Azeez on Instagram after the youngster posted a video of his outrageous solo goal for the under-18s on Wednesday.

Azeez broke the deadlock as the Gunners beat Chelsea 2-1 in their final game of the season. And the goal provided yet another reminder of what a prospect he is.

The midfielder collected the ball just inside the Chelsea half. Surprisingly, he was left in acres of space and was given the chance to run at the home side’s defence.

The 18-year-old then went on to beat four defenders before lashing his shot into the bottom corner from the edge of the box.

Azeez showed the kind of close control that suggests that he could have attempted to take on several more Chelsea players and still ended up finding the back of the net.

And that is why the video he posted on Instagram has attracted so much attention from Arsenal teammates as well as some of his peers at other clubs.

Both Bukayo Saka and Alexandre Lacazette conveyed their reaction with emojis. Meanwhile, Manchester City youngster Liam Delap perfectly summed up in one word how a lot of people would have felt about the strike.
