Report: Arsenal to hold fresh Raphinha talks this week; £50m deal possible

Arsenal will hold fresh Raphinha talks this week with the Gunners leading the race for the Leeds United star, while Goal also reports that his representatives think he could cost just £50 million.

And it seems that Arsenal will waste little time in pursuing their next target. Reports on Sunday claimed that the Gunners had pulled out of the race to sign Raphinha after signing Jesus.

However, that appears to have not been the case. Goal reports that Arsenal will hold more talks with Raphinha this week. Mikel Arteta’s men are now leading the race for the 25-year-old.

It has been reported that Leeds want £65 million for the wide-man. However, Goal adds that his representatives believe that he could leave for just £50 million.

Arsenal will hold fresh Raphinha talks

Leeds fans will not be at all happy about Raphinha leaving if the fee is £50 million.

The Whites are set to sell Kalvin Phillips to Manchester City. And while he leaves with most supporters’ blessing, there is a lot of discontent about the potential fee.

Some are adamant that Phillips should go for a lot more than an initial £42 million. And Victor Orta has come in for criticism for some of the business he has done when it comes to moving players on. So losing Raphinha for £50 million amid talk of a £65 million price-tag would infuriate many.

Raphinha is an ‘amazing‘ player. And, in the wake of Phillips’ imminent departure, he is the world-class star in Jesse Marsch’s squad.

So the fans will be livid if Arsenal are successful in pursuing a £50 million deal.
