Arsenal have told the representatives of Lucas Paqueta that they plan to make a bid for the midfielder this summer, but Goal Brasil claims that Lyon have set an eye-watering asking price of £67.5 million.
Paqueta has been linked with the Gunners for much of the window. He enjoyed a superb campaign with the Ligue 1 side last year, scoring 11 goals and contributing seven assists in all competitions.

Reports recently claimed that they are working behind the scenes to sign Paqueta.
And it seems that Arsenal have now informed the player of their intentions. Goal Brasil reports that the Gunners have now informed the agents of the 24-year-old that they will make a bid this summer.

However, there is a hurdle to clear. And it is a pretty large one.
Goal Brasil claims that Lyon’s asking price will have to drop before Arsenal are able to sign Paqueta. Currently, Les Gones are holding out for £67.5 million for the Brazilian.
Arsenal signing Paqueta would be superb way to round off window
Arsenal have done a lot of incredibly smart business in this window. They have excited the fans with deals for the likes of Fabio Vieira and Gabriel Jesus.
Signing Paqueta would surely be another major step in the right direction for their squad. He has been described as ‘extraordinary‘. And he is only going to get better in the years to come.
Obviously, the asking price is a concern. And Lyon have proved in the past that they can be incredibly shrewd negotiators. So there may not be much room for manoeuvre.
But if Arsenal can get a deal across the line, it could be an outstanding way for Mikel Arteta and Edu to round off a brilliant window at the Emirates.
