Report: Arsenal target Youri Tielemans available for just £25m

Arsenal could have to pay just £25 million to sign Youri Tielemans this summer, but The Telegraph reports that he could also see out the remaining year of his contract with Leicester City.

Tielemans is definitely one player to keep an eye on heading into the summer window. He has been outstanding for much of his time in the Premier League.

The highlight of his spell with the Foxes came last season when he found the top corner to settle the FA Cup final. Unsurprisingly, he has attracted a lot of attention.

The Telegraph reports that Liverpool and Manchester United have previously shown interest in the Belgian. Meanwhile, Fabrizio Romano suggested recently that Arsenal want Tielemans this summer. They had previously met with his agent in January.

Interestingly, on that occasion, Romano claimed that he could cost £42 million. But it would appear that the asking price could be considerably lower.

In fact, The Telegraph reports that Tielemans will be priced at around £25 million. They do however, suggest that he could yet stay until his contract expires.

Tielemans is a ‘special‘ player. He has not always been at his best this season. But he has been one of the Premier League’s standout midfielders since his arrival. He was reportedly valued at £70 million just last summer.

Arsenal certainly need to strengthen in the middle of the park over the summer. And Tielemans is a player who could still develop further.

The reports that he could cost just £25 million should certainly alert the Gunners. There is the potential for that kind of fee to be an absolute masterstroke.

Arsenal may be wary of that figure due to his contract situation. But they must also remember that he would not come cheap on a free transfer either given the signing-on-fee players tend to demand.

If Leicester are prepared to sell Tielemans for £25 million, Arsenal must not miss out.
