Liverpool, Manchester United, and Chelsea are among six teams who now want to get their hands on Leicester City midfielder, Youri Tielemans, according to reports from Italy.

Calciomercato have claimed that Tielemans is a wanted man. Liverpool, United, Chelsea, as well as Bayern Munich, Real Madrid, and Atletico are all credited with holding an interest in the Belgian star.

Tielemans has been on the radar of the Reds for some time now. But the fact they face such a fight for his signature indicates the Leicester man is high on the agenda for many. Indeed, in the summer, it was claimed the Foxes would demand around £70m to even consider selling.

24-year-old Tielemans is yet to sign a new deal with Leicester. His current contract expires in 2023, meaning the Foxes face a tricky summer decision if nothing is agreed soon.

Tielemans has been a roaring success in the Premier League ever since Leicester signed him in the summer of 2019. He’s helped the Foxes to FA Cup glory, scoring a wonder goal at Wembley to boot.

TBR’s View: Tielemans the real deal and perfect for Liverpool

It was a strange decision from the Reds to not replace Gini Wijnaldum in the summer. Such a big player going and not being filled in for did raise eyebrows.

Long-term, then, Tielemans seems the perfect man for the Reds. The Belgian really does have everything a modern midfielder needs. Good on the ball, a great engine, but not afraid to put the boot in if needed either.

Naturally, Leicester’s huge asking price will be off putting. But if he doesn’t sign a new deal soon, then that fee could drop. Liverpool, then, might end up with a bargain on their hands. Albeit, both United and Chelsea would both love the Belgian star as well.

He comes highly recommended, and former Liverpool striker Emile Heskey once labelled Tielemans as ‘fantastic’, citing his suitability for the Reds along the way.
