Report: Arsenal receive Besiktas bid for Mohamed Elneny

Arsenal have received an offer from Besiktas for Mohamed Elneny, with NTV Spor hinting that they could look to get a deal done today.

The window in Turkey does not close until next Wednesday. And with that, clubs in England may be hoping to offload some more of their fringe players even with the domestic window shut.

Football London reported that Fenerbahce want Sead Kolasinac and Cedric Soares. And it now seems that another Gunners player could be offered the chance to move.

According to NTV Spor, Besiktas have made a bid for Elneny. It is claimed that they have accelerated their push to sign the Egyptian.

Arsenal need to consider any decent offers for Elneny amid Besiktas interest

Elneny has done reasonably well since coming back into the fold following a spell with Besiktas.

However, Arsenal need to have better options in the middle of the park. And the fans will be hoping that Thomas Partey and Albert Sambi Lokonga can form a good partnership.

With that in mind, selling Elneny makes a lot of sense.

His contract is up next summer. And he is reportedly earning £52,500-a-week at the Emirates.

Of course, they should not let him leave on the cheap. Arsenal probably do not have the depth to do that.

And there will be some frustration that they did not prepare for Elneny’s possible departure by bringing a replacement in. They also loaned Miguel Azeez out.

They did have warning, it seems. Elneny was linked with a move away on deadline day.

Nevertheless, Arsenal need to put that to one side. If the offer is decent, surely it is time to go.
