Report: Arsenal prospect Nikolaj Moller will leave on loan
Arsenal youngster Nikolaj Moller will join FC Viktoria Köln on a loan deal, according to football.london.
The youngster only moved to north London during last summer’s transfer window from Malmo. He has made a big impact since his arrival, scoring seven times and registering three assists in 18 under-23 games.
Moller was one of many youngsters on a loan list sent out to clubs across the UK.
Midfielder Ben Cotterell is another player who Arsenal want to develop elsewhere next season.
Moller will be playing in 3. Liga, the German equivalent of League One, next campaign. His old coach compared him to Gunners legend Nwankwo Kanu.
Moller pathway non-existent at Arsenal
The pathway into the Arsenal first-team is virtually non-existent for Moller amid news over his loan move.
At 19, the player is just one year younger than Folarin Balogun. But, while Moller is on loan, the 20-year-old will spend next year with Mikel Arteta’s squad.
On top of that, Tyreece John-Jules impressed during his time with Doncaster Rovers last term. He too is most likely ahead of the youth player in the pecking order.
And with the presence of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and the potential arrival of Tammy Abraham, the Swede has no immediate future in N5.
