Report: Arsenal offer Martin Odegaard £115,000-a-week deal
Arsenal are prepared to offer Martin Odegaard a deal worth around £115,000-a-week, with Defensa Central reporting that that is around £33,000-a-week more than he is on with Real Madrid.
Odegaard’s future looks to be back on the table this summer. It had seemed that he would be plying his trade with Los Blancos again next season.
He has featured for Carlo Ancelotti’s side throughout the summer. Nevertheless, Arsenal seem to now have reason for encouragement.
Ancelotti reportedly called the Norwegian into his office to discuss his future this week. But, despite telling the youngster he does not want him to leave, Odegaard apparently has doubts about staying.
And Arsenal have seemingly looked to seize an opportunity.
According to Defensa Central, Arsenal have informed Odegaard that they are prepared to pay him £115,000-a-week at the Emirates.
The report notes that over the year, he would earn €2 million more with Arsenal than he would staying put.
Huge statement if Arsenal can convince Odegaard to return amid contract offer reports
A return to Arsenal reportedly appeals to Odegaard. Defensa Central notes that he knows that he is more likely to have a key role in Arteta’s plans.
It would be a huge statement if Arsenal could lure him away. Ancelotti wants Odegaard to stay. And he has backed that up by using him in pre-season.
Arsenal are ready to part with a large sum. Odegaard is in line for a huge pay-rise. And they want him to be a key man.
He is seemingly open to leaving. So if Madrid are not prepared to offer assurances, perhaps there is a good chance that a deal could happen.
