Report: Arsenal monitoring Rennes forward Martin Terrier
The 25-year-old was outstanding last year, scoring 21 times in the top-flight. Meanwhile, he managed to contribute seven assists in all competitions. And he has continued to shine this season.
Terrier has 11 goals and four assists in 20 games in all competitions. Only five players have found the back of the net more often than the Ligue 1 star this term. And he has predominantly played on the left rather than as a striker.
Martin Terrier on Arsenal radar
Speculation that he could be on the way to the Premier League has now started up again.
Reports from Media Foot this week claimed that Tottenham have held talks with his agent about a potential move.
Arsenal are on the lookout for another forward in the upcoming January window. Of course, the main name in the frame is Mykhaylo Mudryk. The Gunners have already made a bid for the 21-year-old, according to Fabrizio Romano.
But it seems that they are keeping their options open. And few forwards in Europe have been in better form over the last 18 months than Terrier.
He is unproven outside of France. But £31 million is not a huge price for someone who has scored 29 league goals since the start of last season.
FBRef lists Gabriel Martinelli and Bukayo Saka as similar players to Terrier. So he would certainly have a lot to offer if he ended up at the Emirates in a future window.
