Report: Tottenham have opened talks with agent of Martin Terrier
Tottenham Hotspur have opened talks with the agent of Martin Terrier ahead of the January transfer window, with Media Foot reporting that they have been looking to find out whether the Frenchman wants to join Antonio Conte’s squad.
The forward line has got Spurs out of a lot of holes this season. They have conceded the opening goal in their last nine games. And they have been under-par on a lot of occasions.
But the likes of Harry Kane and Dejan Kulusevski have been superb. Meanwhile, Richarlison has also been impressive since his summer switch. And of course, Son Heung-min won the golden boot last season.
Tottenham hold talks over Terrier
However, it would appear that Tottenham may be looking to strengthen further up front.
According to Media Foot, Spurs and Manchester United have held discussions with Terrier’s representatives. Both clubs have been looking to understand whether the 25-year-old would be keen on a move, what wages he would be looking for, and what terms Rennes would want.
Terrier has been in superb form, scoring 11 goals in all competitions, including eight in Ligue 1. Meanwhile, he has also provided four assists.
He has actually made the majority of his appearances on the left of the forward line. But he is a ‘complete‘ player. And he has actually been one of the best performing wide forwards in Europe this season.
Few players have scored more from that position. Meanwhile, he is one of the best when it comes to tackles, interceptions and aerial duels won, according to FBRef.
FBRef lists Son Heung-min and Bukayo Saka as players who are similar to Terrier. So it would certainly have the potential to be an absolute masterstroke if Tottenham did manage to bring him to North London next month.
