Arsenal are now interested in Napoli’s record signing Victor Osimhen as the Gunners continue their push to land at least one new striker in the summer, according to a report from the Daily Mirror.
Mikel Arteta’s men did some perplexing business during the January transfer window. No new striker arrived. And yet, the Gunners let both Folarin Balogun and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang leave.

As things stand, Balogun is the only forward under contract at the Emirates next season. So it is no surprise that a raft of names have been linked.
Reports claimed that they want both Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Alexander Isak. But another name has emerged.

The Daily Mirror reports that Arsenal have also made Osimhen a top target.
The 23-year-old has 10 goals in all competitions this season. His return is more impressive when you consider that he missed a couple of months while on the sidelines due to injury.
Arsenal should have reservations about Osimhen move
Osimhen has perhaps not completely lived up to expectations since moving to Stadio Diego Armando Maradona. He arrived for a fee of around £67.4 million, breaking the Serie A side’s club-record.
But he only turned 23 back in December. So he is clearly going to improve further in the years to come. And he fits the profile of the kind of signings Arsenal have tended to pursue in recent months.
Osimhen has also been described as a ‘phenomenal‘ player by Walter Mazzarri earlier this season.
Interestingly, Lille previously signed Osimhen as Nicolas Pepe edged towards the exit. Of course, the Ivorian would end up joining Arsenal in that window.
Napoli are losing one key attacking player this summer. Lorenzo Insigne is set to join Toronto. And with that, the club may be reluctant to lose Osimhen also.
Certainly, they are going to want a hefty fee. So perhaps it would be a surprising move if Osimhen ended up joining Arsenal.
