Arsenal are interested in signing Eden Hazard during the January transfer window, and have even made contact with Real Madrid about a potential move this month, according to a report from Media Foot.

The Gunners are continuing their pursuit of Mykhaylo Mudryk. However, they are still working to try and agree a deal for the Ukraine international.

And with that, they are considering other options. Arsenal fans however, may not be best pleased to learn which player they are reportedly looking at.

Unsurprisingly, Real are ready to let the Belgian leave the club. Clubs in Major League Soccer are currently considering a move for the 32-year-old.

But Arsenal could offer him a return to the Premier League. In fact, Media Foot reports that the Gunners have already made contact with Los Blancos about a potential deal for the forward.

In truth, Arsenal fans will hope that there is absolutely nothing in the links with the former Chelsea man. Hazard has had a nightmare of a spell with Real. And he has only played three games in La Liga this season. Meanwhile, he is reportedly earning £416,000-a-week in the Spanish capital.

He does not suit the Gunners’ style of play. And it is hard to see Arsenal being able to replicate the brilliance of the deal which saw Martin Odegaard arrive from the Bernabeu a couple of years ago.

Hazard, admittedly, has a stunning record in the Premier League. He has previously been described as ‘unplayable‘. But that was a long time ago now.

Arsenal have moved forward considerably since then. And if they are not going to sign Mudryk this month, then surely they would be better off sticking with what they have.
